Olympic Moguls to Pro Gridiron

Tuesday April 25, 2006
Jeremy Bloom, two time Olympian freestyle skier, and 2005 World cup mogul champion, will, no doubt, be glued to the television this weekend, but not to watch skiing. Bloom, a former wide receiver for University of Colorado, will be watching the National Football League annual draft of college players. Bloom will be on the block along with several hundred other outstanding players, all waiting to be picked for the pros.

Jeremy Bloom’s Colorado football career was cut short when the NCAA ruled him ineligible for accepting skiing endorsement monies. However, an impressive 2003 season, when he caught 22 passes for one touchdown and averaged over 16 yards per reception has not gone unnoticed by the pro scouts. Jeremy had a very impressive Combine showing, where all potential pro players strut their best in a series of athletic competitions. This, and a pronounced commitment to the sport, should he be drafted, have more than a few handicappers picking Bloom to be drafted as a kickoff and punt return specialist. Best of luck to Jeremy and here’s hoping he gets a Super Bowl ring.

Just wanted to say that I think your skiing section is excellent. I have been glued to the site for well over an hour now. It’s seriously cutting into my skiing time ! Good to see Jeremy Bloom’s trying to get back into football :)
