Austrians Win Giant Slalom Races

Nicole Hosp of Austria won Sunday's World Cup Giant Slalom at Cortina, Italy. Genevieve Simard, Canada finished second and Austrian Elisabeth Goergl was third. Julia Mancuso of the United States was fifth and the U.S. women were awarded the Cortina Ski Trophy for the best overall results for the weekend.

Also on Sunday at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, Christoph Gruber of Austria finished first in the men's World Cup Giant Slalom followed by Scott Macartney of the U.S., Kjetil Andre Aamodt of Norway was third, and Austrian Hermann Maier, fourth.
